Especially in times of the COVID 19 pandemic including lockdown, the price development sparked by the large-scale chemical industry seems somewhat strange. Many other industries are economically in the doldrums and can only work to a limited extent or not at all. On the other hand, those sectors that are still relatively well employed (including the construction industry) are additionally burdened in the current crisis by upstream price jumps to the extreme.
